1.5 hours guided walking tour in the historic city centre of Leipzig
Autumn 1989: photos of the people praying for peace and demonstrating for freedom were televised worldwide. The peaceful revolution in Germany and with it the end of the cold war started in Leipzig. The guided walking tour will take you to original sites linked to the peaceful revolution: such as St. Nicolai church where inhabitants of Leipzig started their prayers for peace and freedom in the 80s, the Augustusplatz where the demonstrations took place and the »Round Corner«, the headquarters of the Stasi (the secret service in GDR) in Leipzig.
